Major Transformation with Simple Items

This house has a great layout and offers many wonderful features but you couldn’t see them or appreciated them until Styled & Staged gave the homeowners a clear vision of what needed to be done. Removing half of the contents was the first step and then renting inventory from Styled & Staged was the second step. The third step is to get this house sold!

068 — BEFORE – too much clutter and not enough colour

AFTER – I changed the drapes, artwork, accessories and I move the furniture to open up the space and showcase the window

069 — BEFORE – the furniture blocked the window and the arrangement wasn’t conducive for conversation

AFTGER – adding artwork in the hallway with the same colours extends the eye so the room feels and looks larger

AFTER – it’s important to have the colours flow and the same drapery treatment when the rooms are joined like this

AFTER – Buyers will see that there is lots of space for entertaining

079 — BEFORE – the TV was the main focal point of the room

AFTER – adding a tall piece of artwork and accessories on the mantle create height which balances out the two story window and cathedral ceiling. Simple pops of teal in the pillow and table cloth bring the two rooms together. The colour was inspired by the area rug and the artwork

AFTER – just needed a basic tidy up and a pop of colour that flowed from the family room

095 — BEFORE – this room had two desks. We put one downstairs in the basement bedroom so both rooms looked better

AFTER – it’s amazing how just adding some drapes and artwork (that they already had) made all the difference. Now the room feels finished

AFTER – adding drapes and artwork that was in the same skateboard scheme as the linens really pulled the room together

112 — BEFORE – most kids have way too much stuff in their rooms when staging their house.

AFTER – removing some furniture and rearranging the existing furniture made more sense. Solid drapes also make the room feel less busy but they add a pop of colour

117 — BEFORE – this room really needed some help to make if feel luxurious

AFTER – adding a few side panels softened the dark wall and also draws your eye up to the architectural details

AFTER – adding matching lamps, new bed linens and some red cushions give a polished look. Now the red walls don’t look so harsh since there are pops of the same red throughout the room

131 — BEFORE – Finished basements can add so much value when buyers can see the potential

AFTER – you would never know that this is the same room

135 — BEFORE – Selling your home is the time to purge and get rid of anything that you don’t need or want anymore

AFTER – this room has endless possibilities now. With a built in kitchen it can be a rental property, a home day care (or any other home based business or a granny suite.

142 — BEFORE – always put your best foot forward. Buyers are buying a perceived lifestyle so make it as nice as your budget allows

AFTER – we removed one bed and brought the desk down from another bedroom since it was an extra one. Just adding new linens and artwork made all the difference in the world
