Huge Transformation in Every Room

Every home has it’s own Staging ‘story’ since no two homes are the same and every house has it’s own circumstances.  I loved working on this house since the Realtor and the homeowners were so accommodating to my suggestions.  We needed to bring in a lot of inventory but I really think it was worth it when you see the transformations in each room.  This house is ready to move into!!!

Old Furniture Gets a New Look

When I first met this family, they were planning on throwing out this love seat and sofa since they felt it was too dated.

The style of the furniture might be a bit dated, but the colours are very current again.  By removing their drapes and replacing them with floor-ceiling turquoise drapes from IKEA, it completely changed the look.  I added solid cushions to remove some of the patter and added artwork that tied all the colour together.  Adding a large ivory area rug helped to define the two spaces.  Now the home owner wants to keep the furniture 🙂

Not only does the new accent colour work with their furniture, more importantly it works with the tile floor so everything has a  cohesive flow.

it was important to tie the two rooms together with accessories and the same drapes.  Since there is a lot of red/orange tones in the wood I wanted to remove the red since I found it was too much.

TIME TO BORROW STUFF

The Realtor actually lent them this sofa and they brought the black chairs in from another house.  We used their ottoman from the bedroom here as a coffee table instead since it had all the perfect colours.  I brought in artwork, accessories and new ivory drapes for a modern feel.  Notice how the brass on the fireplace has been painted out with black BBQ hear retardant paint.  They couldn’t find a large enough area rug so they put two 5 X 7 shag rugs together.  They will be more useful in their new house.

SET THE STAGE

Buyers like to know what size table will fit in the space.  Putting a large black table showed the perfect scale and broke up all the wood.  It flowed nicely with the black leather sofa in the adjoining room.

I wanted to enhance the backsplash and flooring so all the artwork I brought in had the same tones.

It’s the little details that pull a room together.

MASTER BEDROOMS NEED TO FEEL LUXURIOUS

I used their drapes as the colour inspiration for an elegant feel.  Adding matching table lamps, greenery and candles completely transformed the room.

With a few accessories and artwork, this bathroom now has the same luxury as the master bedroom.

FURNITURE PLACEMENT

Once we switched the desk and the credenza around, it allowed me to created a nice focal point in the room with artwork.  I always stand in the doorway to see what angle the photographer will take their photos from.  The desk is also shorter than the credenza so it gave more space as you entered the room.

This bedroom was freshly painted in a neutral cream colour.  Once we removed the desk, the bookcase could go on the far wall so it didn’t block your view anymore.  Turning the bed to the big wall allowed us to see the bed more and also hang artwork to tie the colours together.  The room looked so much bigger this way.  New ivory drapes, new ceiling fixture and linens also really freshened the room.

Even though this was an office/guest room, I still wanted it to feel like a bedroom since 4 bedroom houses have so much value.  I disguised the futon with the homeowners’ linens that used to be in the master bedroom. Adding new drapes, artwork and greenery were all that was needed here.
