Let’s face it…there are other things that we would rather be doing than laundry! I’m in houses everyday and I always remember when I see nice laundry rooms since it’s unexpected. I saw these cheerful laundry soap canisters at Winners the other day and they brought a smile to my face. I love the crisp bold red with the bright yellow tulips. I know we just started to see the snow but I got excited thinking of Spring. The canisters had a measuring cup on the side to measure your powdered soap. They also had several little wooden blocks with whimsical words related to laundry. I can see them perfectly sitting on the shelf above the washer/dryer.
In an ideal world your laundry room is functional with lots of storage, a place for ironing, a rod for drying and a place for folding. Lighting is also very important. Don’t forget to hang some cheerful artwork as well. If you plan on spending hours in this room anyway, you might as well enjoy the space 🙂
This drying levee was one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a client’s laundry room. She said she copied the idea from Martha Steward. You lower the rack to hang your clothes and then raise it up while they are drying. 🙂
