Every home Staging is unique and has it’s own set of challenges and rewards – that is why I love it so much.  I just finished working on this house with the huge help of the realtors as well.  The homeowner was in his mid-eighties so we had to roll our sleeves up a whole lot more for this one 🙂  The biggest challenge was removing the accumulation of living in a home for so many years and making the house feel more current with their existing furnishings and accessories.

AFTER – this room was completely transformed once the grand piano was removed. Although it was beautiful not many buyers have one so we need to set up the furniture so it appeals to the masses. Replacing the heavy blue velvet drapes and shears instantly brightened up the room as well. Moving the lamps to the long wall gave balance to the room.  Using the existing curtain rods also helped keep costs down

AFTER – The grand piano no longer blocks the view of the beautiful large bay window

AFTER – We removed literally half of the furniture in this rom and it still feels full. Making the Fireplace was very important. Updating the drapes that complement the homeowner’s furniture and artwork gave the room more colour. Removing the huge plant in front of the window also opened up the room

AFTER – This elegant dining room was all blue. Adding the same ivory drapery treatments as the livingroom create balance as well as brighten up the room. Replacing the brass wall sconces with the homeowners’ artwork also update the room and break up the blue.

AFTER – It’s amazing what a difference just clearing off the counters can do. Now I really notice the cabinetry and the beautiful hardwood floors

AFTER – removing free standing tables etc always opens up the space and shows buyers that there is enough counter space and storage. Using simple wall décor gives the interest without distracting the beautiful features the room has to offer

AFTER – whenever you have a dark saturated colour it’s important to break it up with layers of colour and pattern. Make every special feature of a room memorable

AFTER – this room was overwhelming with all the extra furniture and artwork. Once each layer was peeled away I could see the true potential of the room and the homeowners furniture looked beautiful

AFTER – once all the shelves were removed and the extra desks were removed this room had a fresh coat of paint. Buyers can still see the potential of this room as cheery home office or a large bedroom. Again, all the furnishings belonged to the homeowner.  Shelves can really make rooms feel smaller like the wall are closing in on you
